I spent three weeks in Guatemala, tucked high above the stunning Lake Atitlán for a yoga teacher training—and honestly, it felt like I had stepped into a dream.

The training was held in a retreat center perched up a steep hillside. And when I say “steep,” I mean real hiking. There’s no road, no Uber, no shortcut. You hike—20 solid minutes, uphill. We had a local guy help carry our bags (bless him), and from there, it was all legs, lungs, and commitment. But once you reach the top, you understand exactly why it’s worth it.

The view? Pure magic. From up there, the lake stretches wide and still, framed by majestic volcanoes that shift in color from deep blue to glowing pink as the sun rises. Every morning, I’d wake up, open my eyes, and just be met with that view—lake, volcanoes, sky—like a living painting. It’s how I’d like to start every day of my life.

The training itself was deeply spiritual. We journaled, meditated, practiced daily—inside and out. We connected through ceremonies, rituals, and soulful conversations that made the experience more than just physical practice. It was a true inner journey. I’m so thankful to my teachers for holding space in such a grounded and openhearted way.

I also got the chance to teach, guiding vinyasa flows and sharing what I’d been learning in real time. It was powerful to feel that energy exchange—to teach in that space, in nature, with such intention.

Oh—and the food! We had an on-site chef who nourished us with the most delicious, healthy meals. Everything was fresh, vibrant, comforting, and made with love. Every bite felt like part of the healing.

This chapter in Guatemala has left such a deep mark on me. It was three weeks of magic, nature, and growth—and I’ll carry it with me wherever I go next.
