I recently had the absolute pleasure of supporting Nadine at her Bikram Yoga & Wellness Retreat as a guest teacher—and honestly, it was one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve been a part of. Just keep reading, you gonna love that one!!
Every morning started with Bikram Yoga, and I had the opportunity to guide the group through an intermediate class. What surprised me most was the response: many people were new to Bikram, but their openness to explore, experiment, and dive in blew me away. They loved it so much, they asked for more—so we did a second session. Watching people stretch past what they thought possible (literally and metaphorically) reminded me why I do this.
And the setting? Magical.
The retreat took place at Moodz Spa Resort, a true hidden oasis in Portugal—a paradise in the middle of nowhere, wrapped in silence and natural beauty. This place had it all: a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, hamam, massage room, and a meditation space. There is an outdoor yoga deck under the sky, and yes—there is even a fully equipped hot yoga room. What else could you possibly ask for? It was the perfect blend of raw nature and refined wellness luxury.
But the retreat wasn’t just about yoga postures.
It was a full journey. We played games, shared stories, and connected through vulnerability and laughter. We did breathwork, explored cacao and sound ceremonies, and experienced the powerful (and unexpected) effects of Kundalini Activation Process (KAP), not to miss the bonfire ceremony.
The food? Delicious. Nourishing. Soul-fueling. We celebrated two birthdays, danced around the table, and even took a trip to Lagos for a beach day. Sure, the weather was a bit chilly, but when you’re surrounded by good energy and deep connection, who even cares? It’s all about perspective.
And yes—I tried the cold plunge, finally!!
Let me be real: I hate cold, and water is definitely not my element. But we did it together, and the collective support gave me just enough courage to scream a little and jump in. That shared challenge became one of the most powerful moments of the retreat.
We also went on a sunrise hike in silence, practiced meditation, and spent time just being—something we don’t get nearly enough of in everyday life.
But the real magic?
It was the people. Humans from all over the world, bringing their stories, their energy, their warmth. That mix of cultures, languages, and openness created something truly unforgettable.
So if you’re thinking about taking a break, reconnecting with yourself, or just doing something radically different—I highly recommend this retreat. It’s more than yoga. It’s a full-body, full-soul reboot.
