Chicago hits differently!! Jeez, I love Chi 💙

Chicago has a way of welcoming you with open arms. It’s a city that balances bold architecture with soft natural beauty, where the rhythm of life flows along the river and the energy rises with each skyscraper. Nestled against the stunning backdrop of Lake Michigan, this city isn’t just a place—it’s a feeling.

You need to keep the following in mind though. I visited Chicago once in late September and again in December, and let me tell you: timing matters. I got two totally different experiences—one vibrant and full of life, the other cold, quiet, and ghostly.

September was magic. The sun was shining, the river sparkled, and the city buzzed with energy. People were out, patios were full, and the whole vibe was just amazing. There is so much to explore—neighborhoods, rooftop bars with skyline views, Michigan lake, walks along the river.

December, though? A different story. It was really cold, windy, and almost empty. The streets felt abandoned, and unless you love freezing winds slapping your face, I’d say skip winter in the Windy City.

Of course, I couldn’t visit without checking out some hot bikram yoga. I practiced at Bikram Yoga Chicago and loved it—it’s one of those rare, original studios with real heat, the classic flooring, and that old-school energy. I took a late morning class, so it was pretty quiet, and I missed that strong community vibe—but still, great class, solid teaching.

I also went to the 105F hot yoga studio, but when I found out there were no showers—just a sink—I had to skip it. After 90 minutes of sweating? A sink just won’t cut it.

As for the food—well, it’s USA, so don’t expect anything super refined. But if you’re there, you have to try the famous Chicago-style deep-dish pizza at least once. It’s heavy, cheesy, and totally over the top, but worth the experience.

Whether you’re strolling the Riverwalk, catching reflections in the glass towers above, or watching the big waves of the blue Michigan Lake, Chicago invites you to look up, breathe in, and take it all in. The skyline stretches like a sculpture in motion, and each neighborhood pulses with character, creativity, and charm.

It’s a place that leaves you curious, inspired, and just a little bit in love. Chicago doesn’t try to impress—it just does.
