I only had three days in Buenos Aires—but somehow, the city squeezed its way right into my heart. It’s vivid, it’s alive, and it knows how to make a first impression. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. People were friendly, surprisingly many spoke English, and the city buzzed with this effortless rhythm between old charm and bold modern energy.

I kicked things off with a city walking tour, the perfect way to soak in the architecture, street art, and quirky corners of Buenos Aires. One of the highlights was visiting La Boca, the colorful neighborhood with its bright houses, tango dancers on the street, and that unmistakable flair. You know the kind of place where even the walls feel like they have stories to tell? That’s La Boca.

In the evenings, the city turns up the heat—and not just because of the weather. I went to a tango show that completely swept me off my feet (figuratively, thank goodness). The music, the intensity, the drama—it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Passion is not performed in Buenos Aires; it’s lived.

And the food? Oh my. The empanadas were dangerously good—crispy, warm, perfectly spiced. Then there was this sweet biscuit thing filled with dulce de leche (which I later found out is called an alfajor). One bite and I basically understood why everyone in Argentina is obsessed. Pair that with a creamy spoonful of dulce de leche straight from the jar and… I was in dessert heaven.

Of course, I couldn’t leave without checking out the local Bikram Yoga studio. It’s part of the regional hot yoga family, and I was seriously impressed. The class was in Spanish, which added a fun challenge, but the teacher’s energy transcended language. The community was warm and welcoming—I felt at home the moment I stepped in. There’s something magical about practicing in a new city and still feeling connected through the breath and the heat.

Buenos Aires was short and sweet—intense in the best way. I left with full lungs, a full belly, and a full heart. I’m already dreaming of the next time I’ll return (hopefully for more than three days and definitely for more alfajores).
